Habitation Servicing & Safety Checks
Keep your motorhome or caravan safe and roadworthy with a full habitation service at your door. I check gas systems, water systems, electrics (12V and 240V), damp levels, fire safety equipment, window seals and door mechanisms. Whether you’re preparing for the season or buying a second-hand vehicle and want a thorough inspection, I’ll give you an honest assessment and a written report. Ideal before: a long trip, winter storage, or purchasing a used motorhome or caravan.
Repairs & Fault Diagnosis
Leaking roof? Blown habitation fuse? Fridge not working on gas? I diagnose and fix faults on-site wherever possible, saving you the hassle (and cost) of transporting your vehicle to a workshop. Common repairs I carry out include: water ingress and damp damage, window and door seal replacement, 12V and 240V electrical faults, Sargent and CBE control panel issues and faulty charging systems. I can provide a wide range of parts and can source specialist components quickly if needed.
Upgrades & Off-Grid Installations
Want to wild camp without worrying about power? I design and install complete off-grid electrical systems tailored to how you use your vehicle. Recent installations include: 175W and 200W solar panel arrays, Victron MPPT charge controllers and inverters, DC-DC split charging systems (B2B), lithium leisure battery upgrades (from 100Ah to 300Ah+), 240V mains hook-up wiring, USB and 12V socket installations, LED lighting upgrades, and satellite TV and WiFi antenna fitting. Every installation is planned around your power usage and travel style. I’ll talk you through the options and recommend a setup that fits your budget.
Gas System Servicing & Certification (NCC Approved)
As an NCC-approved gas engineer, I carry out gas safety inspections, leak testing, regulator checks, and appliance servicing on motorhomes, campervans and caravans. I can issue gas safety certificates for your records or for insurance purposes. I also install and commission gas appliances including Dometic and Truma heaters, hobs, ovens and fridges. If you’re converting a van or upgrading an older setup, I can advise on the safest and most practical options for your layout.

Highly recommend. We wanted to change the double passenger seat in our van to a more comfortable single seat. Sam gave us great advice and suggested we also fitted a swivel base to get more use out of the seat. We purchased the seat and Sam fitted it along with a swivel base. He did an excellent job and we love the new seat.
Sam has made an excellent job of fitting seat covers in our vw california ocean, something we definitely wouldn't have been confident enough to tackle. Responsive to calls, made a date and kept it, even arrived early. He will definitely be our go to for internal jobs on the van that we can't do (everything!!)
I recently contacted roam and repair after having charging and over-voltage problems with a Sargent unit in my van conversion. Following a chat it was recommended that I have seperate 12Vdc, 240Vac and charging equipment fitted. The Victron units, 12V fused board and mains board were fitted along with new controls/app connectivity. Everything was installed exceptionally well and looks fantastic. I was expecting to replace the two existing leisure batteries but was told at this point it was not necessary. Knowledgeable, reliable, and honest service throughout. I needed to upgrade my 2009 Fiat Ducato for wild camping. After a initial consultation and taking his advice, Sam fitted 2 x 175watt solar panels, a DC-DC split charger, a 2000w inverter and a 230ah lithium for me. His workmanship and professionalism is outstanding! The installation took 2 days and the results are amazing. I will definitely use his company again, should the need arise. Highly recommended.
